Lisa Bandong has been teaching
prenatal yoga at her local community center providing accessible classes since
2010. She loves teaching prenatal yoga in San Marcos and her teaching mantra – “you know your body best.”
Lisa has been a student of yoga
since 2002 first earning her Registered Yoga Teacher - 200 hour designation in
2009. She went onto earn her
Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher designation in 2011, and is an alumnus of
the first class of San Diego’s first Yoga Alliance Prenatal/Postnatal Yoga
program - Yoga Well 10 Moons
program.
She owes her wonderful birth
experiences to the fabulous prenatal care providers who empowered her during
her pregnancies including: her prenatal yoga teachers, Liza Janda and Shelley
Rahim; midwives, Kayti Buehler and Rita Wagner; doulas, Melissa Blaisdell,
Alisa Okamoto and Annely Allen; and lactation consultant, Rochelle McLean.
Lisa Bandong resides in North
County San Diego with her husband and two children. She earned
her master’s in Public Health with an emphasis in Health Promotion and Disease
Prevention at California State University Fullerton in May 2016.
Her own birth journey has
influenced her interest in maternal child health policies - research interests
include polycystic ovarian syndrome, breastfeeding, midwifery, and wellness
programs utilizing complementary alternative medicine.
