Lisa Bandong has been teaching prenatal yoga at her local community center providing accessible classes since 2010. She loves teaching prenatal yoga in San Marcos and her teaching mantra – “you know your body best.”

Lisa has been a student of yoga since 2002 first earning her Registered Yoga Teacher - 200 hour designation in 2009. She went onto earn her Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher designation in 2011, and is an alumnus of the first class of San Diego’s first Yoga Alliance Prenatal/Postnatal Yoga program - Yoga Well 10 Moons program.

She owes her wonderful birth experiences to the fabulous prenatal care providers who empowered her during her pregnancies including: her prenatal yoga teachers, Liza Janda and Shelley Rahim; midwives, Kayti Buehler and Rita Wagner; doulas, Melissa Blaisdell, Alisa Okamoto and Annely Allen; and lactation consultant, Rochelle McLean.

Lisa Bandong resides in North County San Diego with her husband and two children. She earned her master’s in Public Health with an emphasis in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at California State University Fullerton in May 2016.

Her own birth journey has influenced her interest in maternal child health policies - research interests include polycystic ovarian syndrome, breastfeeding, midwifery, and wellness programs utilizing complementary alternative medicine.
